Project Overview:Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Job Summary:The Contractor Assurance Manager will report to the Manager of Quality and will support the maintenance, development, and implementation of the WTP Contractor Assurance program.
Full-Time In Office:
This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. #LI-SF1
- Manages the Contractor Assurance System, including program description, procedures, instructions, and qualification/training for the corrective action management, cause analysis, lessons learned, assessment, performance metrics, and trending processes for the project.
- Ensures the Contractor Assurance System meets applicable requirements from DOE Orders, such as DOE O 226.1, and other contract requirements.
- Directs Contractor Assurance activities on the project, interfacing and communicating with engineering, procurement, construction, administrative services, testing, operations, decommissioning, and other project personnel to ensure technical and quality requirements, management goals, and objectives are met.
- Actively promotes and facilitates a proactive culture of self-identification of issues, timeliness of action planning and closure, management ownership of actions and the implementation effectiveness of actions taken, and organizational ability to learn.
- Facilitates the Contractor Assurance program integration with the Quality Management System, the Nuclear Safety Quality Culture Program, the Integrated Safety Management System, and the People-Based Quality Program.
- Manages Contractor Assurance staff and budget.
- Maintains client liaison and communication for project quality and contractor assurance related activities, as appropriate.
- Monitors the project performance measures of the Contractor Assurance program, utilizing quantitative and qualitative data and information to provide and report effectiveness of program implementation to project management.
- Performs or directs assessments of the Contractor Assurance System and its implementation, to ensure timely and effective alignment of the expectations and initiatives.
- Supports the project during assessments conducted by the client, management, or regulatory agencies as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Skills:
- Knowledge of a recognized quality assurance standard (e.g., ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001) and related regulatory requirements (e.g., DOE O 226.1) and their application to construction, engineering, acquisition services, supplier quality, materials management, operations, commissioning, training, environmental safety & health, or subcontractor processes.
