Senior Pipe Stress Engineer

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer for a 12‑month contract assignment supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant near Richland, WA. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization. Our client is targeting $85.00/hr for this role. U.S. Citizenship is required.

We are designing and building a one‑of‑a‑kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. The Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, is located 22 miles northwest of Richland, WA.

• Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost‑effective design.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
• Perform pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code.
• Model piping systems to verify flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• 6–9 years of prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs including ME101 and/or Bentley AutoPIPE.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

• PE Registration.
• Previous Bechtel project experience.
• Previous DOD/DOE project experience.
