Job Overview
This is a senior design engineering position offering a variety of challenging opportunities in nuclear Instrument and Controls Engineering. The role involves interfacing with discipline engineers, designers on the Project Team, and the client to ensure all client requirements are satisfied.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead major process controls engineering projects in areas such as digital systems (PLC, DCS, touchscreen displays, network switches, and control systems).
- Develop functional requirements and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control systems in nuclear power plants.
- Prepare process instrumentation replacement evaluation reports.
- Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production, including cable block diagrams and schematics.
- Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications.
- Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly and concisely to meet client requirements.
- Attend client meetings and conduct site walk‑downs to ensure client satisfaction with the work product.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced nuclear instrumentation and controls design engineers.
- Lead teams in using data and modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost‑effective designs.
- Direct automation and process‑improvement work, including how engineers automate calculations, summarize technical documents, or generate design documentation.
- Oversee engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks.
- Value additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that support oversight of automation and AI‑enabled engineering workflows.
Hybrid schedule requiring in‑office work three days per week.
Qualifications Essential- BS degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 5+ years of experience in design engineering for process control systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.
- Experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems.
- PE license.

Base salary range: $84,762 – $129,498. Eligible employees may also participate in a yearly discretionary bonus.
