Senior Pipe Support Engineer; DOE Project

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a,
Senior Pipe Support Engineer
, for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant near Richland, WA. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization. Our client is targeting $85.00/hour for this role. U.S. Citizenship is required.

We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. The Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant is located 22 miles northwest of Richland, WA.

• Leads or administers work to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
• Develops designs for complete and complex 3D model equipment layouts and pipe designs from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.
• Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
• Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
• Participates in constructability reviews.
• Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
• Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
• Reviews PD&P design scope changes, as required, for project management.
• Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use.
• Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar field.
• 8+ years of experience with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3.
• Prior experience using Pipe Support Modeler software preferred.
• Prior experience using pipe support analysis program GT Strudel preferred.
• Requires ability to work in 3D model environment for extraction of 2D pipe support drawings.
• Prior experience using structural analysis programs.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

• PE Certification.
• Previous Bechtel project experience.
• Previous DOD/DOE project experience.
