Pro Sidian Seeks an AMTF Environmental Regulatory Support Specialist - GSSC [Full-Time [W-2] Senior Consultant] located:
The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area to Provide services and support as a AMTF Environmental Regulatory Support Specialist (PR0161) at The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provide Environmental Regulatory Support service to The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site. The Assistant Manager for Tank Farms (AMTF), Tank Farms Project Division (TPD) requires support of organization, analysis, and review of regulatory compliance documentation for tank farm closure; supporting oversight and management of closure regulatory requirements; and providing technical and regulatory assistance via development of policy, strategy, and guidance as well as analysis, interpretation, and responses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

AND DUTIES
  • Tank Closure Documentation - provide analysis and review of regulatory compliance and supporting documentation for tank closure in accordance with environmental laws and regulatory requirements applicable to Hanford (e.g., performance assessments, risk assessments, closure plans, RCRA Facility Investigation/Corrective Measures Studies, etc.).
  • Technical Assistance - provide support in the development of regulatory, permitting, compliance, tank closure, and Hanford policy and strategy as well as regulatory analysis, guidance, recommendation, and responses
  • Provide day-to-day support for tank closure activities.
  • Development of written products (including emails and reports, as required) and verbal communication (including briefs to DOE) regarding environmental regulatory activities performed in support of DOE.
  • Performance of tank closure reviews/evaluations as necessary to support DOE.
  • Qualifications

    Desired Qualifications For A GSSC AMTF Environmental Regulatory Support Specialist (PR0161) | Full-Time [W-2] Candidates:

    The AMTF Environmental Regulatory Support Specialist - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.

    Skills / Abilities / Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
    • 5 years of relevant experience in the field of radioactive and hazardous waste management.
    • Experience in implementation and development of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (AEA) requirements and documents.
    • Experience in implementation and development of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA) requirements and documents.
    • Experience in implementation and development of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) requirements and documents.
    • Experience in implementation of Hazardous Waste Management Act of 1976 (HWMA) requirements preferred.
    • Experience in implementation of Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA) requirements preferred.
    • Experience in implementation of Clean Air Act of 1955 (CAA) requirements preferred.
    • Experience in development of risk/performance assessments.
    • Experience in groundwater monitoring and remediation.
    • Experience in soil characterization and remediation.
    • Experience in RCRA permitting preferred.
    • Experience in RCRA/CERCLA integration preferred.
    • Knowledge of the Hanford site preferred.
    • Experience at a DOE Office of Environmental Management site preferred.
    • Experience in working with and negotiating with regulatory agencies.
    • Ability to interact with diverse parties with multiple, potentially conflicting, interests.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds in person and by telephone.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Skilled in problem identification and resolution.
    • Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors
