Industrial Hygiene Support Specialist

Pro Sidian Consulting seeks a qualified Industrial Hygiene Support Specialist to support the DOE Office of River Protection (ORP) engagement near Richland, WA 99319. The role involves providing industrial hygiene technical services for the cleanup of underground storage tanks, ensuring compliance with regulations and program objectives.

The specialist will serve as the technical expert for ORP’s Safety & Health Division and will advise and perform professional, scientific, or technical work related to industrial hygiene programs under the direction of the SHD Division Director.

• Evaluate industrial hygiene program documents, plans, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements.
• Ensure that industrial hygiene program requirements are implemented at the Tank Farm (TF) and Waste Treatment Plant (WTP).
• Support ORP interface with the RL on medical programs and the interface with Tank Farms contractor activities; oversee WRPS IH exposure assessment data for compliance and answer related questions.
• Perform oversight of WRPS IH and vapor program activities to ensure contractual requirements are met and establish a comprehensive Tank Farm vapor program.
• Provide technical support to ORP for managing the Vapor Management Expert Panel and the IH interface with ORP staff.
• Support WTP and TF management, including milestone reviews, performance assurance program assessments, and other engineering and quality oversight activities.
• Conduct field walk‑downs to ensure facilities meet industrial hygiene requirements and procedures.
• Review documents, assessments, and procedures to confirm adequacy for industrial hygiene program development and implementation.

• Review Comment Record forms for industrial hygiene document reviews, schedule reviews, contract deliverable reviews, and other documents.
• Maintain operational awareness database entries for contractor oversight, meeting observations, procedure reviews, design reviews, document reviews, field walk‑downs, etc. as assigned.
• Conduct assessments and surveillances of industrial hygiene programs in accordance with DOE‑ORP procedures.
• Submit all deliverables to the SHD Director before internal or external publication and availability.

• Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities for the past five (5) years.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• U.S. Citizen (participation in the e‑Verify program is required).
• Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization per the U.S. Government’s Security Office.
• Availability to travel occasionally for meetings, site visits, or training, coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved by the Contracting Officer.
• Capability to submit to and qualify for background investigative requirements up to Top Secret or DOE “Q” clearance.
• Strong organization and analytical skills, with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Occasional travel may be required. Work will be conducted at or near Richland, WA 99319.
