Overview

Production Automation Engineer/Specialist (US) at Siemens Energy, Richland, WA.

As a member of the Operational Excellence team, the Production Robotics Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced robotic and automated control solutions for production technology.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement robotic and automated control solutions for production technology.
  • Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for robotics integration and optimization.
  • Collaborate with architects, vendors, and partners to deliver efficient robotics‑driven automation solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean methodologies and digitalization focused on robotics integration.
  • Program, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic automation systems and equipment.
  • Train production staff on safe and effective use of robotic and automation systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Robotics, Computer/Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visual Basic.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands‑on experience in robotics and robotics programming languages (preferred).
  • Experience integrating robotics into manufacturing environments (preferred).
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple automation projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, self‑driven, team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with external partners, vendors, or integrators to develop and implement automated solutions.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization.
  • Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
