Position: Nuclear Project Manager II (8610)

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Project Manager II will lead and manage complex nuclear projects under $10M, overseeing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution across multidisciplinary teams. Drive safe, high-quality, on-time delivery by coordinating outages, online work, and system upgrades in a regulated environment. Oversee project controls, risk management, resource loading, contract development, and vendor coordination while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Serve as a key communicator with stakeholders, providing updates, aligning priorities, and supporting strategic project planning. Requires 5+ years of nuclear project management experience, strong leadership and organizational skills, and advanced knowledge of project management practices within commercial nuclear environments.
This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate: $63.44 - $96.55

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects and programs typically under $10M, including planning, scheduling, and control of activities independently
  • Lead project teams of 10+ members on complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Establish project priorities and maintain working knowledge of all project aspects within scope
  • Direct and oversee project team activities to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and within-budget execution
  • Manage project budgets, including development and tracking of cost versus budget in coordination with finance and project controls
  • Monitor project management processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate with project managers, line managers, and cross-functional teams
  • Coach and mentor other project managers; serve as acting supervisor/manager when required
  • Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and online work assignments
  • Oversee planning, execution, and monitoring of work to ensure compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Support all aspects of project implementation, including work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, safety compliance, clearance orders, and work prioritization
  • Manage resource loading, risk identification/mitigation, and resolution of schedule delays and conflicts
  • Develop and manage contracts; interface with vendors and external partners
  • Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with project complexity to track progress, manage risk, and control critical path and float
  • Interface regularly with clients, engineers, stakeholders, and management to ensure alignment and progress
  • Prepare and deliver written and verbal communications to project teams and senior management
  • Develop and maintain long-range project planning strategies
  • Support implementation of self-assessment and corrective action programs
  • Provide outage coordination support, including OCC activities
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in engineering, construction, project management, business, or related field and 12+ years of experience in a multifaceted and/or regulated industrial environment
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 14+ years of experience
  • OR Associate’s degree and 16+ years of experience
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 18+ years of experience
  • At least 5 years of experience within the nuclear industry applying or directing project management activities
  • PMP certification required
  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience required
  • Experience supporting system replacements or upgrades in a commercial nuclear power plant environment
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications, codes, and industry standards
