Part-Time Position Overview

Trade Wind is seeking a civil engineer with specialized technical expertise for the West Area Program. This includes developing engineering documents, originating and submitting design review media using Smart Plant®, offering design and procurement expertise for Tank Farm equipment, and facilitating vendor interactions to address technical inquiries during the design, fabrication, construction, testing, readiness, and turnover phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive technical support for the design, fabrication, construction, testing, readiness, and turnover processes of the SY-103 systems. Work will include but will not be limited to the tasks described below:
    • Conduct thorough reviews of civil design and test documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements, propose in the Safety Equipment Compliance Database (SECD), as Originator/Checker in Smart Plant® workflow, input to Work Order Review & Approval (WORA) process, and review vendor submittals.
    • Review and provide timely responses to requests for information (RFIs) through H2C Vendor, maintaining project momentum and clarity.
    • Offer expert technical guidance to project engineers on design and testing requirements, populating Design Requirements Compliance Matrix (DRCM) and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
    • Align equipment Catalog Identifications (CID) to drawing equipment identification numbers (EINs), originate Fabrication, Inspection, Testing (FIT) plans, assist and track fabrication of components and systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and standards in accordance with Quality Assurance Inspection Plans (QAIP).
    • Generate up to 5 monthly Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)/ Design Change Notices (DCNs) to address and resolve any design issues that arise, ensuring continuous improvement and project success.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years in nuclear facility mechanical systems.
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience in:
    • Design, Procurement, Fabrication, Testing, Delivery, and Installation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Interfacing with fabrication vendors, resolving technical inquiries, ensuring compliance with design requirements, managing complex procurement activities, supporting construction to meet project milestones.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hanford Site Experience, specifically Tank Farm systems along with Smart Plant® and Enterprise Asset Management processes.
Salary and Benefits Information Expected Salary Range

$75 - $100 / hour (depending on experience)
