Job Title

This position provides regulatory support to Energy Northwest line organizations with special emphasis on environmental requirements, state regulation, federal regulations and reporting.

Principal Accountabilities

Serve as the primary interface with local, state and federal environmental regulatory agencies. Responsible for routine written and oral communications with those agencies including coordination of audits, inspections, and assessments using skills and experience gained through application of standards and regulatory requirements. Provide technical advice and proactive counsel to senior management on a wide range of complex environmental and other regulatory issues, interpretation and verification of industry guidance and regulatory requirements for application to plant specific issues.

Provide verbal and written management presentations on industry and generating station issues, preparation and presentation of new permit applications and subsequent amendments, participation in industry regulatory initiatives. May provide unconventional or advanced problem-solving techniques. Routinely provide technical leadership on complex and/or extended programs and projects.

Make decisions about personnel regarding employment, performance expectations/reviews, promotions, salary changes, transfers, and terminations. Resolve personnel problems.

Manages activities assuring Energy Northwest fully implements the Energy Northwest Environmental Stewardship Program. This includes reporting to the CEO and senior management on the overall performance of the Program, environmental performance, project progress, and making recommendations for enhancements. This may include reporting to the Executive Board as directed by management.

Develop, implement, and maintain processes, assuring information provided to the local, state and federal regulators is complete and accurate in all respects.

Support continued plant operations, emergency preparedness, and outage activities in a leadership role as assigned.

Provide resources necessary to support licensing and permitting activities of all Energy Northwest energy facilities.

Develop, implement, and maintain interfaces with environmental regulators to ensure adequate communications and identification and resolution of problems.

Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated.

Must support the biennial refueling outage

Required Education & Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences from an accredited college or university; OR, a PE license obtained by an accredited examination. High school diploma or GED is required.

Ten years of environmental or engineering experience at a power plant or other experience overseeing industrial facilities, five of which were in direct support of regulatory licensing and/or compliance programs.

Previous supervisory/management experience.

Pay Range

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
