Polestar is seeking qualified candidates for Mechanical Engineer positions to support project planning and work scope execution. These roles provide mechanical engineering services within the mechanical engineer disciplines.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to develop specifications, calculations, perform engineering evaluations, develop statements of work, and develop design drawings for mechanical systems, primarily piping and pumps.
Positions are available across multiple labor categories based on experience:

- Entry Level: 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Recently graduated and require supervision from senior level. Performs lower complexity design tasks such as calculations, minor modifications, and specifications for equipment. Proficient in use of design software.
- Mid-Level: 2–8 years of relevant experience
- Requires minor supervision. Engineers that are assigned lead role in an engineering discipline on a project from conceptual design through support of installation/construction. This tier is where Engineer obtains PE (Professional Engineer) license.
- Senior: 8–15 years of relevant experience
- Operates with complete autonomy, experienced in design strategy. Senior engineers are responsible for system architecture, risk mitigation, and leading multi-disciplined project teams. They collaborate with Project Managers.
- Principal: 15+ years of relevant experience
- Requires specialized discipline expertise. These engineers drive company-wide technical strategies, mentor less experienced staff, and make crucial design decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledgeable in ASME B31.3 Process Piping
- Ability to develop test plans and troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Current/active Professional Engineering license. Preference given to WA and/or KY licensure.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Work will be performed and/or assigned from the Polestar office in Richland, WA. Business travel is expected. Assignments to locations nationwide may be requested.
