Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State.

The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities – Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory – as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and Amentum. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. Selected applicants need to be able and willing to work weekends as needed.

The HLW Tool Control Materials Specialist is responsible for activities relating to construction coordination of tools and consumables inventories, including data entry into tool management systems, transfers for usages, and tracking tools for repairs. Assists in inventory checks to balance and address discrepancies. Duties include preparation of Field Material Requisition s (FMR) and performs the data entry needed to facilitate tracking and planning needs for site.

Supports the deployment of the site tool program, assist in training craft personnel on the use, min max and replenishment program, monitors data requirements for the employee tracking system and coordinates tool repairs and recertifications. The Tool Control Materials Specialist will work with the Warehouse Superintendent and team for various activities, including the receipt, inventory, storage and issuance of consumables, bulks, spares, equipment, and potentially permanent plant materials to be used in construction.

• Maintains direct working relationship with the following: site warehouse and tool crib teams, Field Engineering and Construction concerning the storage and availability of materials for issue to the field assigned crafts and clerical personnel in the process of receipt, storage custody, and issue of project materials.
• Initiates requisition for field purchase.
• Assists superintendents with the sourcing, deployment, and material and tool and consumable supply requirements in support of project.
• Tracks field purchases and other purchases required for construction using procurement systems or other database programs as required.
• Processes Material Withdrawal Request to deliver materials to Construction.
• Assists with the disposition of surplus project materials.
• Maintains min/max records for the project for tools and consumables and monitors employee utilization throughout the duration of the project, recommending applicable changes to the Site Management Area Superintendent.

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience, in lieu of degree 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
• Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
