Job Duties/Scope Of Work

This position provides Engineering and Design Authority support to the HMIS Engineering Organization.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing and approving work packages and other engineering documents in support of the HMIS engineering program.
  • Generating Facility Modification Packages and other required engineering documentation.
  • Conducting peer reviews of engineering documents developed by other engineers.
  • Capable of writing clear and concise engineering documents that define the activity, requirements, and expectations for the services being provided.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with applicable Local, State, and Federal Codes, Regulations and Standards for mechanical installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing and/or implementing field modifications or documents/procedures addressing mechanical maintenance requirements.
  • Experience with WaterCAD modeling.
  • Training and/or experience working with the AWWA, NSF, NFPA 24, and/or Washington administrative codes applicable to this work.
  • Experience with maintenance or repair of mechanical components supporting chemical processes.
  • Experience obtaining a consensus among diverse parties on implementing engineering solutions to problems.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT)

  • Grade 16: 90,150 - $113,550
  • Grade 17: 99,063 - $124,788
  • Grade 18: 109,013 -$137,538
