Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) seeks an Account & Financial Analyst to join our General Accounting Team. This position will be responsible for coordinating the financial month end close, processing accruals, completing several DOE deliverables as well as becoming the point of contact for Capital Accounting.
Responsibilities- Coordination of the monthly close process
- Submission of monthly DOE accrual
- Capital Accounting
- Audit Financial records to ensure they are uploaded to permanent records storage (IDMS)
- Process monthly distributions and manual journal entries as necessary
- Reconcile assigned General Ledger accounts ensuring accuracy
- Perform system process validations and resolve discrepancies
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Generate required financial reports and metrics as requested
- Act as backup for team members as necessary
- Comply with H2C and departmental policies and procedures
- Ensure Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) Principles are incorporated into the organizations activates
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Grade 16:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 17:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 6-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 18:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications- Knowledge of Oracle People Soft and/or Asset Suite
- Knowledge of IDMS
- Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Knowledge of Sunflower (SAMS)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors.
Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $90,150
Hiring Range Maximum: $137,538
