Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, maintain par levels, rotate stock, and handle ordering and receiving
  • Perform accurate order entry and labeling to ensure safe medication administration
  • Prepare IV mixtures, including HD and non‑HD admixtures, following USP 797/800 best practices
  • Execute packaging and storage procedures in line with facility and regulatory requirements
  • Handle removal processes such as recalls, returns, outdates, and reverse distribution promptly
  • Operate and stock automation systems and troubleshoot basic automation issues
  • Use National Drug Code (NDC) lot numbers for tracking and documentation
  • Work closely with clinical teams in an inpatient/acute care setting to support patient care needs
Qualifications
  • State pharmacy technician license required
  • Minimum 0.5 years of pharmacy technician experience (as listed)
  • USP 797 and USP 800 experience preferred
  • Familiarity with sterile compounding, HD admixture, and non‑HD admixture procedures
  • Experience with automation systems (stocking and problem resolution) a plus
  • Comfortable working in an inpatient/acute care environment and supporting oncology/hematology patients
  • Able to complete an 80-hour orientation at assignment start
Knowledge & Skills
  • Pharmacy inventory management and par level maintenance
  • Order entry process and accurate medication labeling
  • Prepare IV mixtures and sterile compounding techniques (USP 797/800 awareness)
  • Pharmacology for Technicians and knowledge of drug interactions
  • Pharmacy law and regulation basics and state licensing requirements
  • Packaging, storage requirements, and removal/recall procedures
  • Automation use, automation stocking, and basic troubleshooting
  • National Drug Code (NDC) lot number management
  • Experience with BSC, LFH, and BD Optima equipment
  • Working knowledge of inpatient/acute care workflows and oncology/hematology support
