Anticipated Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with a rotating weekend shift.

Position Overview:
The Hospice Social Worker (BSW to MSW Pathway) provides compassionate, supervised support to hospice patients, families, and caregivers. This transitional role is designed for individuals who hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree and are actively pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW). The Social Worker will contribute meaningfully to the care team while learning and growing in a clinical environment.
The individual must obtain their MSW within eight (8) months of hire to remain eligible for the role and to support advancement into a Masters level Social Work position at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Baccalaureate degree in social work (BSW) from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
2. Active enrollment in a Master's in Social Work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (ongoing proof required).
3. Ability to obtain MSW within eight (8) calendar months of hire. Upon successful completion, the employee will be transitioned to a Hospice Social Worker role, pending eligibility.
4. At least one year experience in long term care settings, hospice, palliative care, and end-of-life social work.
5. Experience in assisting clients and patients navigate benefits systems such as Department of Veterans Affairs, Medicaid, COPES, and others.
6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
7. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincy's service areas to provide in-home patient and family services and support in clients' homes, facilities, and community locations. Demonstrated ability in casework, counseling, and group work.
8. Available to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as
needed for patient care and operational needs.
9. This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.

Compensation
Hiring Range: $26.53 - $33.65 per hour
Premiums:
• $2.50/hour Weeknight
• $2.25/hour Weekend day
• $4.75/hour Weekend Night
• $4.00/hour On Call Standby
Note regarding the listed pay range:
Hiring Range: The starting pay range offered to new hires, depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits
• Mileage Reimbursement: $0.72 per mile, for eligible positions.
• Vacation: Accrual of hours each pay period based on hours worked.
