Service & Delivery Technician III

Job Description

The successful individual will provide IT technical support to our Safeway and Albertsons retail grocery stores in and around Yakima, WA. This includes troubleshooting and configuring various IT hardware unique to retail, conducting break‑fix repair on computers, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers, as well as deploying equipment and installing new hardware and software. The role offers opportunity to work on different projects, learn new technologies, and support store directors to run our best‑in‑class retail grocery stores.

The position is based in Yakima, WA and requires 25% travel to Kennewick, WA and surrounding areas.

What You Will Be Doing

Provide IT support to Safeway and Albertsons stores in Yakima, WA; deploy equipment; install and maintain hardware and software; troubleshoot hardware and software issues; support POS systems, scales, and network servers; provide remote connectivity support; maintain equipment inventory controls; work with Support Center (STSC); interface with Corporate IT groups; adhere to repair standards; drive as required in the Zone Service Area.

Responsibilities
  • Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway
  • Repair approved standard technology hardware including PC/Server hardware, Network hardware, RF hardware, and printers
  • Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications
  • Troubleshoot resolutions
  • Install new hardware and software
  • Provide customers with IT support and meet SLA goals
  • Provide network and remote connectivity support
  • Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies
  • Work with Support Center (STSC) on assignment of problems, support issues and concerns with computer systems
  • Interface with all Corporate IT groups for on‑site support and technology resolutions
  • Adhere to repair standards and service levels established
  • Drive required for this Zone Service Area
What We Are Searching For
  • Exceptional telephone, customer service, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows OS, Microsoft Office and related apps
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate within a matrixed org
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights, and on‑call support
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, strong business ethics, reliability, and consistent follow‑through
Physical Environment
  • Work may be performed in a temperature‑controlled environment
  • Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
  • May spend long periods driving and working in a retail location
  • Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
  • Fast‑paced workday; some evening and weekend work may be required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment; some twisting and turning with equipment installs
