Technical Editor
Pro Sidian seeks a Technical Editor for program support on a contract basis, generally located across the CONUS - Richland, Washington, supporting DOE EM Hanford in a federal, regulated, high-stakes nuclear cleanup environment.
This role requires candidates with relevant environmental management sector experience to support professional services engagement for environmental management sector clients such as DOE. This is a contract contingent or contract W-2 (IRS-1099) oversight and general support services under job task category 06 assistant manager for tank waste and waste treatment (AMTWO/AMWTP) functional area.
Responsibilities and Duties
Edit documents, manage reviews, maintain templates, enforce retention. This role provides services and support for programmatic technical, project controls, and business support functions in support of the tank waste and waste treatment.
Technical editor:
Provides expertise in editing, writing, and producing high-quality technical documents, and supports project management. The role is essential for enhancing the quality and efficiency of project management for HFO by providing expertise in technical document editing, implementing digital technologies, and developing management planning documents, while also supporting senior management and ensuring compliance with project management policies.
Qualifications
Desired qualifications for technical editor candidates:
- 5–8+ years technical writing/editing in regulated environments.
- BA/BS in English, tech comm, or STEM.
Skills required:
- Editing, controlled docs, proofreading.
Competencies required:
- Detail, collaboration, time management.
Ancillary details of the roles:
- Lead redlines of safety basis documents.
- Functional attributes of this role include technical editing & document control.
- Job tasks related to Hanford field office (HFO) general support services (GSS) in this role shall include a broad spectrum of support responsibilities.
- Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the CO in advance is allowed, in accordance with federal travel regulations.
- Pro Sidian team members shall have a facility clearance, and their subcontractors and team members proposed to perform classified work shall have a facility clearance. When required, Pro Sidian personnel shall possess a DOE clearance level as indicated in the task description for the work performed.
- Work shall be conducted at the Hanford field office and the Hanford site in Richland, Washington.
- The government will provide the Pro Sidian team with office space, computer workstations, and required software at the Hanford field office (HFO) location to support the performance of all tasks. Scope performance shall be conducted predominantly on-site at the Hanford field office (HFO) facilities (with some remote support as approved by the contracting officer [CO]).
