SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Open Text Architect — Lead to serve as Key Personnel for the modernization of the Hanford Integrated Document Management System.
The selected architect will lead the technical design and execution of a side-by-side upgrade from Open Text Content Server 21.1 to Open Text Extended ECM Platform X1/xECM 26.x. The enterprise environment supports more than 8,000 users and includes large-scale records, database, custom-development, integration, identity-management, storage, testing, cybersecurity, and operational-transition requirements.
The Open Text Architect will provide overall solution architecture, upgrade leadership, environment validation, technical coordination, cutover planning, rollback planning, integration oversight, testing support, production deployment support, and knowledge transfer.
Essential ResponsibilitiesLead the architecture and technical design for the upgrade from Open Text Content Server 21.1 to xECM 26.x.
Develop and document the current-state and target-state architectures.
Design a side-by-side upgrade approach that permits the existing production environment to remain operational until the upgraded environment is tested, validated, and accepted.
Provide technical leadership for parallel development, test, and production environments.
Validate Open Text prerequisites for HMIS-provided infrastructure, including:
Windows Server 2022 or another supported version
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
Oracle 19c
Virtual-machine infrastructure
Network connectivity
Net App storage
Lead installation and configuration planning for xECM 26.x.
Develop the technical strategy for decommissioning Open Text Archive Center and relocating archived content to HMIS-provided Net App storage.
Oversee the technical assessment, upgrade, remediation, or replacement of:
OScript modules
Open Text Builder customizations
Workflows
Live Reports and Web Reports
.NET applications and services
Oracle database objects
CWS and REST integrations
Enterprise Connect
Fastman components
Cold Fusion Loadzone
G2 and related interfaces
Lead architecture for Open Text Directory Services, single sign-on, multifactor authentication, SAML, OIDC, TLS 1.3, and Oracle Transparent Data Encryption.
Establish technical standards, configuration baselines, design-review procedures, and technical acceptance criteria.
Coordinate technical activities with HMIS infrastructure, database, application, cybersecurity, records-management, business, and operations and maintenance stakeholders.
Coordinate with Open Text and Oracle support resources to resolve product defects and obtain necessary fixes.
Review and approve technical designs, migration plans, installation plans, testing plans, cutover plans, rollback plans, and recovery procedures.
Support functional, integration, regression, database, performance, security, and user-acceptance testing.
Lead or support production-readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions.
Provide technical leadership during production deployment and the 90-day hypercare period.
Support scheduled hypercare coverage and critical Severity 1 escalation responsibilities.
Participate in daily issue reviews and weekly incident and trend reporting during hypercare.
Develop technical documentation, installation records, operational playbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for HMIS administrators, developers, database personnel, operations personnel, and other stakeholders.
