Senior Vice President – Captive/Reinsurance Management (Cayman Islands)
The Senior Vice President ("SVP") role is a client relationship lead role.
The SVP will be the lead Aon Cayman contact for a number of mostly reinsurance captive clients, responsible for leading various client service teams in providing high-quality management services to these clients.
The SVP will have responsibility for maintaining/building strong relationships with client representatives, provider partners and regulatory agencies.
The SVP will be a member of the Aon Cayman management team and, similar to other members, will have responsibility for leading an allocation of office‑wide initiatives (including operational, business development, forecasting, colleague and/or risk/governance/compliance related).

Duties to include:- Chief Aon Cayman relationship lead for a number of clients (reinsurance client focus; including general and long‑term business)
- Responsibility for driving and delivering consistent high‑quality management services to these clients
- Lead, direct, develop and motivate client service teams in the provision of such services
- Oversight of the finance and accounting function (reinsurance client focus), ensuring the client service team’s accurate and timely distribution of financial statements
- Managing complex financial transactions/analysing and responding to technical accounting queries (reinsurance client focus)
- Managing client service agreements, margins and profitability
- Board Meetings & client travel: responsibility for board meeting success (itinerary and board material sign‑off/release; itinerary management and board meeting management and follow‑ups)
- Proactively oversee the client financial audit process to successful conclusion
- Proactively oversee the clients’ (re) insurance programs and renewals (in conjunction with the Aon Cayman (re) insurance lead where applicable)
- Drive operational excellence within the team and recommend improvements where needed
- May lead onboarding of new clients
- Shared responsibility for identifying and closing new business opportunities
- Support the development and implementation of policy and procedure upgrades; responsible for upholding compliance and regulatory obligations ensuring applications and filings are submitted on time
- Responsible for ensuring clients remain in compliance and good standing with Aon compliance and external regulators
- Colleague performance management responsibilities – the SVP will participate in the performance management process for direct reports, providing constructive feedback, assisting with objectives/goal setting, and supporting career development initiatives and acting as a mentor and coach to direct reports and client service team members.
- Previous experience leading reinsurance captive relationships
- Professional accounting qualification e.g. CPA, CA, ACCA, or ACA is required
- Technical reinsurance accounting experience (general and long‑term)
- Experience in leading, motivating and supporting client service teams (strong colleague advocate and collaborator & positive culture contributor)
- Strong knowledge of general and long‑term reinsurance captive program structures
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance captive regulations (Cayman experience preferred)
- Delivering business results with excellence
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, MS Word, and accounting applications
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally
