GENERAL SUMMARY Manage a team to propose, plan, schedule, and successfully execute assigned reactor and major maintenance projects including turbine/generator maintenance services, valve program implementation, refueling services, drywell/wetwell activities, Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) activities, transformer yard activities, heat exchanger program implementation, and pumps/motors program implementation. Provide leadership to ensure the associated work activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and predictable manner within established budgets.

PRINCIPAL

ACCOUNTABILITIES Manage the organization to achieve the goals as set forth in the annual business plan. Manage Reactor and Major Maintenance Department, and all associated project budgets. Manage Refuel Floor, ISFSI, Drywell, Turbine, Turbine Generator, Condenser, Wetwell, Under Vessel, Transformer Yard, Cooling Tower and Circulating Water System, Pumps and Motors, Temporary Power, Valve Maintenance Program, and Roof Replacement projects. Oversee the planning, scheduling, and completion of the above described projects consistent with the philosophy of highest standards of nuclear safety, personnel safety, and quality.

Establish priorities for all projects and maintain a general knowledge of all aspects of the Reactor and Major Maintenance assigned work scope.

Enhance the capability for Columbia Generating Station to perform Reactor and Major Maintenance projects. Based on knowledge and expertise, make recommendations to management about the type and scope of project work to be performed by contractor personnel to enhance Columbia Generating Station cost and schedule performance. Manage the acquisition of necessary personnel, either via direct hire or through contract, to successfully execute projects and activities.

This ranges from eight ENW personnel up to 650 contractors, dependent on ongoing projects.

Act as primary representative of Energy Northwest with numerous contractors, including regular industry networking to ensure necessary expertise and support is available to Columbia Generating Station when needed. Possess authority to initiate and guide discussions on contractual arrangements when needed. Make recommendations to management as to the scope, duration, and expertise required on each contract.

Develop assigned project budgets, which generally range from $25 to $60 million annually. This includes determining manpower, duration, and schedule for the following projects/activities, as well as monitoring ongoing expenditures and deciding what areas need to be addressed and in what order to ensure alignment with the approved budget.

Routinely collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and Site Support Contractor to ensure efficient utilization and employment of personnel across various maintenance activities and projects.

Perform performance appraisals of personnel and ensure training qualifications are maintained. Ensure timely completion of corrective actions in accordance with corrective action process expectations.

Oversee the physical conditions of Buildings 90, 96, 105, and 106, ensuring appropriate worker safety and an efficient work environment.

Other projects as directed by the General Manager.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college or university and ten or more years of related nuclear industry experience with an adequate combination of project management, project budget, and maintenance experience. At least seven of the ten years of nuclear industry experience must be within the role of direct project supervisor/management experience.

OR Associate degree and fourteen or more years of related nuclear industry experience with an adequate combination of project management, project budget, and maintenance experience. At least seven years of nuclear industry experience must be within the role of direct project supervisor/management experience.

OR High school diploma or GED and eighteen or more years of related nuclear industry experience with an adequate combination of project management, project budget, and maintenance experience. At least seven years of nuclear industry experience must be within the role of direct project supervisor/management experience.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Active or previous SRO license, SRO certification, or BWR Management Certification. If selected candidate does not meet this, he/she must attend and satisfactorily complete the next Management Cert class provided by EN. This requirement may be waived by the Site Vice President.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management from an accredited college or university. Majority of experience to be in nuclear industry environment; prefer a minimum of fifteen years of power plant experience.
