Overview

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Project Manager III will lead small to medium-sized capital projects supporting refueling outages, forced outages, and online maintenance activities, ensuring safe, high-quality execution that meets scope, schedule, and budget objectives. This role oversees project planning, budgeting, risk management, contract administration, and cross-functional team coordination while supporting outage operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has commercial nuclear power plant experience, a current PMP certification, and a strong background managing complex projects in a nuclear operations environment. This full‑time position is located in Richland, WA. Pay rate: $58.90 - $103.44

Responsibilities
  • Manage small to medium-sized capital projects supporting refueling outages, forced outages, online maintenance, and other assigned nuclear plant initiatives.
  • Lead project teams of 5 to 10 personnel and provide oversight throughout planning, execution, monitoring, and project closeout.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and control project activities to ensure work is completed safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Establish project priorities and maintain overall responsibility for project scope, cost, schedule, resources, and performance.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, including tracking actual costs against forecasted and approved budgets.
  • Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including work package preparation, procurement of materials and parts, resource loading, and work execution.
  • Support ALARA planning and ensure compliance with industrial safety, nuclear safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, resolve, and mitigate project risks, schedule delays, conflicts, and execution challenges.
  • Develop and manage contracts and serve as the primary interface with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, engineers, project controls, finance personnel, management, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and progress.
  • Prepare and deliver written reports, presentations, project updates, and other communications to senior management and stakeholder groups.
  • Develop and maintain long-range project strategies and implementation plans.
  • Monitor project management processes and recommend improvements that enhance project effectiveness, efficiency, and performance.
  • Apply human performance improvement and error reduction methodologies to support safe and reliable work execution.
  • Support implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Provide outage support, including Outage Control Center (OCC) support activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Minimum of 8 years of project scheduling experience, including at least 4 years supporting large-scale or mega projects.
  • Experience supporting life cycle construction projects with a strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience required.
  • Experience managing complex projects, on-line work management activities, and refueling or forced outage projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and project controls within commercial nuclear power plants or similar industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software required.
