B & R Technician I – Training on Days
Location:
Richland, WA (Day shift), Full Time.
This position monitors the functions of boiler and refrigeration equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operation of heating and cooling systems, which are vital for maintaining product quality and safety. This position has the responsibility of performing routine preventative maintenance as well as performing unplanned repairs while supporting operations.
Responsibilities- Performs maintenance work and care of equipment settings, pressures, or levels within plant guidelines; general maintenance on other specialty equipment unique to boiler and refrigeration.
- Understands and can explain the purpose and operation of all equipment related to boiler and refrigeration and makes decisions on appropriate troubleshooting and repair of equipment as situations warrant.
- Starts up, operates, and shuts down related equipment and systems.
- Diagnoses and repairs problems with valves, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, pumps, motors, etc.
- Reads operating instructions and maintenance manuals to perform repairs.
- Updates CMMS with status and details of work order results daily.
- Performs non-routine maintenance jobs as assigned.
- Maintains organized work spaces, tools, support 5S, and documentation.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Lock-out/Tag-out certification required.
- Experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment, specifically food processing highly preferred.
- Experience with Ammonia or Freon refrigeration systems highly preferred.
- Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
- Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Exposed to noise varying from hot to cold. Exposure to manufacturing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies. Ability to do repetitious arm and wrist movements. Work with hands and arms overhead. Manual dexterity, coordination and good balance at ground and high levels.
Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception. Exposure to temperatures
-20°F to 35°F (freezer) and 37°F to 90°F (plant). Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders regularly.
