ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Economic Empowerment Coordinator will be providing direct services to eligible refugees and immigrants seeking employment, such as preparing clients with work‑related activities, providing case management services, leading job‑readiness workshop classes, presenting job opportunities to clients and assisting with job applications, resume writing and job interviews.

Hybrid schedule: 4 days in‑office, 1 day remote/week

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct employment services to vulnerable refugees and other LEP‑eligible clients
  • Work with the employment team to creatively address barriers to self‑sufficiency and strategize for employment placements and client success
  • Assess abilities, skills, and barriers while enrolling refugees and other immigrants into employment programs
  • Develop individual plans for clients leading to economic self‑sufficiency
  • Maintain a client caseload and provide regular employment services and ongoing case management, including monitoring attendance and program participation
  • Help clients fill out job applications and follow‑up on applications as needed
  • Prepare resumes for clients
  • Assist clients in preparing for job interviews, orientations, and onboarding processes
  • Advocate for clients’ needs in the workplace and provide post‑placement follow‑up
  • Address employment‑related barriers such as transportation, childcare, and cultural adaptation through referrals or support by collaborating with the LEP team and other internal programs
  • Teach job readiness workshop classes as assigned, focused on job readiness and employment success topics
  • Work with the employment team to provide proactive community outreach, re‑engagement of previous clients, and collaboration with partner organizations
  • Utilize creative and data‑driven approaches to expand client participation and ensure recruitment targets are met
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with local employers across various industries
  • Conduct employer outreach via calls, emails, site visits, job fairs, and networking events
  • Promote the hiring of refugees and immigrants by educating employers on the benefits, work authorization, and available supports
  • Keep client files up‑to‑date with required documentation
  • Communicate with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) caseworkers about client participation and progress
  • Maintain large amounts of client data, including case noting, while maintaining client confidentiality
  • Timely documentation of all communication with clients in a secure online database
