GENERAL FUNCTION
Responsible for planning, development, administration, expansion, and evaluation of Pasco YMCA at the Martin Luther King Center programs. Ensure that the YMCA operates high-quality programs that adhere to all state and YMCA guidelines for the operation of outreach centers.
WORK SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONSThe Center Director is expected to maintain a flexible schedule to support YMCA operations. This includes regular weekend responsibilities associated with league play, special events, or other program activities. Workday and hours may be adjusted during the week to accommodate operational needs while ensuring consistent leadership presence at key programs, events, and the facility.

- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years in progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit, recreation, community services, youth development, or related fields.
- Experience in managing and directing volunteers, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, and program development.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must obtain & maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus but not required.
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
- Ability to create and lead new programs.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, schools, governmental agencies, and nonprofit partners.
- Team player with strong public relations and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
- Demonstrate YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- Be able to stand or sit for extended periods, moving to retrieve items in files and on tables, bending and periodically lifting and/or moving approximately 50 pounds.
- Respond to emergency situations throughout the Y building, remote locations, and varying terrain.
- Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and telephone/smart device to communicate.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to perform work both indoors and outdoors and travel to various locations.
