Position: Philanthropy Specialist
Location: Richland, WA with ability to travel in Benton and Franklin Counties
Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30 PM, occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Position OverviewThe Philanthropy Specialist supports Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s fundraising and community engagement efforts by managing grant research, proposal development, submissions, reporting, fundraising appeals, sponsor ships, and foundation outreach. This role builds and maintains relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, foundations, corporations, and community leaders while ensuring timely donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship. Under the direction of the Philanthropy Supervisor, the position supports fundraising events, donor engagement activities, communications, and reporting efforts;
uses digital and traditional tools to increase donor engagement and awareness; maintains donor information in fundraising databases; monitors fundraising performance through CRM and reporting systems; and supports compliance with gift acceptance policies, donor intent, and reporting requirements. The position also performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Fundraising Strategic Planning
- Gathers data, assesses leads, and develops strategies designed to realize the engagement potential of organization prospects.
- Maintains consistent and appropriate contact with identified organizations.
- Facilitates or develops proposals and ensures effective stewardship of grant awards.
- Designs and implements an effective recognition strategy for all corporate giving partners.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies for each prospect.
- Independently design and coordinate solicitations, both written and presented.
- Plan and execute donor recognition strategies in a timely fashion.
- Regularly support and cooperate with other members of the Philanthropy Team.
