Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30 PM, occasional evenings and weekends for events.

The Philanthropy Specialist supports Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s fundraising and community engagement efforts by managing grant research, proposal development, submissions, reporting, fundraising appeals, sponsor ships, and foundation outreach. This role builds and maintains relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, foundations, corporations, and community leaders while ensuring timely donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship. Under the direction of the Philanthropy Supervisor, the position supports fundraising events, donor engagement activities, communications, and reporting efforts;
uses digital and traditional tools to increase donor engagement and awareness; maintains donor information in fundraising databases; monitors fundraising performance through CRM and reporting systems; and supports compliance with gift acceptance policies, donor intent, and reporting requirements. The position also performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a nonprofit fundraising, development, or grant coordination setting, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience assisting with or submitting grant applications, sponsorship proposals, or funding requests.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, proposals, reports, and donor communications.
- Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) spreadsheets, and database systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records and track deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners, while demonstrating initiative and independent work capability.
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation, as driving is an essential function of this role. Must meet insurance eligibility requirements.
- This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial practices, including grant budgeting, donor-restricted funds, and basic financial reporting requirements for grants and sponsor ships.
- Experience working with donor management databases or fundraising CRM systems.
- Knowledge of grant reporting, donor stewardship, and nonprofit fundraising practices.
- Experience working with foundation, corporate sponsors, or grant-making organizations.
