Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring Epic proficiency and availability for on-call and weekend shifts.

Details
  • General OR and Hybrid OR hospital setting, including trauma cases
  • 1:1 patient ratio throughout the OR
  • Shift options include Days (4x10hrs, 7:00–17:00) or Nights (4x10hrs, 20:00–6:00)
  • Weekend shifts required, potentially every weekend
  • On-call required up to 5 call shifts per month, which may include weekends
  • No block scheduling required
  • Floating between facilities within the state is expected for all travelers
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, gynecology, vascular, urology, thoracic, ENT, robotics, and trauma
Requirements
  • Active WA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of OR RN experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • 1:1 patient ratio experience required
  • Prior experience scrubbing and circulating in a variety of surgical specialties
  • Experience with trauma surgery, orthopedic/spine, and neurological procedures strongly preferred
  • Experience with Da Vinci robotic surgical systems preferred
  • Travel nursing experience not required — first-time travelers will be considered
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
  • Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (as permanent staff, traveler, or per-diem), including location and dates
Additional Information
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a different rate
  • Former permanent staff of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles away
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
  • Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
  • Preferred skills include vascular procedures (AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR), gynecologic surgery, robotic-assisted surgery (Da Vinci Xi, Mako), pedi cases, and ENT procedures
  • Preferred equipment experience includes cell saver, electrosurgical units, Hana Table, and Steris systems
  • Preferred professional skills include laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and malignant hyperthermia response
