Job Duties/Scope Of Work

Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer/Acquisition Verification Services (AVS) Inspector shall perform inspection and test activities in accordance with Quality Assurance Inspection Plans (QAIPs) and related procurement and engineering documents. QA Engineer/AVS Inspector shall maintain inspection certifications in accordance with procedural requirements, areas of certification will include electrical and may also include welding, mechanical, and civil disciplines.

  • Generate initial receipt inspection folder for initiation of the work.
  • Provide data entry in Receipt Inspection Tracking System (RITS) during the inspection life cycle.
  • Generate, as needed, nonconformance reports (NCRs) in the integrated contractor assurance system (iCAS).
  • Review data/records for packages from Asset Suite.
  • Complete and maintain required training for appropriate inspection certification disciplines.
  • Perform source inspections (local and out-of-state) in accordance with QAIPs.
  • Some travel may be required relative to source inspection activities which include inspections and testing activities, as specified by the inspection plans.
Basic Qualifications

ENTRY LEVEL:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, plus a minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge relative to procurement documents, QA Program documents, construction, project, manufacturing, and fabrication activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications, installation details, vendor documentation, inspections plans, and applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to recognize common electrical equipment, components, conductors, cables, raceways, fittings, terminations, grounding/bonding components, and associated identification/marking requirements.
  • Ability to witness or review electrical testing such as continuity, insulation resistance, resistance measurements, and other specified acceptance tests, including verification of test equipment and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to effectively communicate inspection findings and technical concerns with engineering, construction, QA, procurement, vendors, and other inspection personnel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, plus a minimum of 7 years of Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of procurement documents, QA Program documents, and construction, project, manufacturing, and fabrication activities, with the ability to apply those requirements during inspection and test activities.
  • Ability to independently read, interpret, and apply electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications, installation details, vendor documentation, inspection plans, and applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and verify common electrical equipment, components, conductors, cables, raceways, fittings, terminations, grounding/bonding components, and associated identification and marking requirements for compliance.
  • Ability to independently witness, review, and document electrical testing such as continuity, insulation resistance, resistance measurements, and other specified acceptance tests, including verification of test equipment, test methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to document inspection results, identify discrepancies, and effectively communicate inspection findings and technical concerns with engineering, construction, QA, procurement, vendors, and other inspection personnel.
  • Ability to perform inspection activities with limited oversight and exercise sound judgment in the interpretation and application of quality requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.

SENIOR LEVEL:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, plus a minimum of 10 years of Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement documents, QA Program documents, and construction, project, manufacturing, and fabrication activities, with the ability to interpret and apply complex quality requirements across inspection and test activities.
