HELIOS is seeking highly experienced Intelligence Watch Officers to join our team in supporting the 24/7/365 intelligence mission for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) in the Washington, D.C. These positions require employees to support Shift work (days/swings/nights) over the week and weekend.
The Intelligence Watch Officer (IWO) serves as a key member of the 24/7 operations team responsible for maintaining continuous situational awareness and intelligence reporting in support of operational and strategic decision-making. The IWO monitors, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence and operational information to ensure leadership and mission partners have accurate, timely, and relevant intelligence.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Maintain 24/7 Situational Awareness: Monitor multiple intelligence, operational, and communication systems to ensure timely identification of emerging threats, significant events, and global developments impacting assigned mission areas.
- Intelligence Analysis and Reporting: Conduct rapid all-source analysis to assess potential impacts to national security, space operations, and organizational equities. Produce and disseminate concise and actionable intelligence reports, summaries, and spot reports.
- Watch Floor Operations: Serve as the primary point of contact during assigned watch shifts for intelligence coordination, incident reporting, and real-time decision support.
- Information Management: Track, log, and archive intelligence reports, message traffic, and operational data to ensure continuity between watch shifts and maintain an auditable record of significant events.
- Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with interagency, joint, and coalition partners to validate and share intelligence information. Provide briefings to senior leadership, operations teams, and external stakeholders as required.
- Threat Warning and Indications: Identify and escalation time-sensitive indications of hostile intent, emerging threats, or adversarial activity in accordance with established protocols.
- Continuity and Knowledge Transfer: Participate in watch turnovers, ensuring all critical issues, ongoing events, and pending actions are accurately communicated between shifts.
- Technical Systems Proficiency: Operate intelligence databases, communications systems, and visualization tools to maintain situational displays and intelligence summaries.
- Crisis Response: Support crisis management and contingency operations by rapidly collecting, synthesizing, and disseminating intelligence to enable mission continuity and informed decision-making.
This is position is contingent on contract award. Veterans receive hiring preference.
RequirementsThe following are the minimum requirements for this position:
- Possess a current, active TOP SECRET Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution preferred in International Studies, Intelligence, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, or other related concentration.
- Three (3) years of prior experience performing the functions related to Intelligence Watch Support
- Intelligence Community (IC) experience desired; DHS all-source intelligence analysis experience preferred
- Experience working with DHS data sources desired.
- Knowledge of the DHS I&A and Intelligence Community intelligence authorities, DHS component missions, overall, I&A intelligence research and analysis, and the role of I&A in supporting the DHS
- Intelligence Enterprise; overall I&A intelligence mission areas.
- Knowledge of Intel Watch style reporting best practices.
- Knowledge of Intel Watch warnings and indicator best practices.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community best practices on current intelligence products
- Experience working with Microsoft Office suite and DHS and IC data systems.
