Mobile Tractor Trailer Mechanic

As a Mobile Technician
, you perform basic-level maintenance and repairs on J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers and power equipment. This is a field-based role
, servicing tractor-trailer equipment at customer sites and rail yards using a mobile service truck in the Richland area.

The hourly pay range for this position is: $26.43 to $35.27. $3,000 sign‑on bonus available for a limited time.

• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs (tires, brakes, electrical, structural), including chassis and frame repairs, patching trailer and container panels and roofs.
• Inspect equipment and document damage for repair estimates and complete associated work orders with proper repair documentation.
• Perform AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair ABS systems.
• Operate and maintain mobile service truck and inventory.

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on mechanic experience servicing semi-trucks and/or trailers or military equivalent.
• Clean motor vehicle record.
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through J.B. Hunt purchasing program.

• DOT certifications in FHWA inspections and air brakes.
• Welding certification.
• Forklift certification and experience.
• EPA Section 608 certification and refrigeration license.
