Electrician/ Electrician Installation
Job Duties / Scope Of Work
An electrician, performing all types of electrical work, such as layout of construction wiring, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, including switch gear, breakers, transformers, generating, substation, distribution and control wiring. Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and be able to operate bucket trucks. Proficient in PCB cleanup and disposal of wastes. Perform testing, inspection, record keeping of electrical protective rubber goods and other dielectric equipment.
Take clearances and perform switching operations on high voltage electrical circuits in excess of 600 volts. Direct others. Perform any assigned electrical work of a lesser skill. Be knowledgeable in working on or near high voltage electrical equipment and systems. Make line and equipment tests.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman electrician required, must have Washington State EL01 license.
- Must be able obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver's license class "B".
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
- AA degree or Certification in Electrical Technology or other accredited electrical education and/or training is highly desired.
- Possess a valid commercial driver's license class "B".
- Working knowledge of 29 CFR , subpart R and 29 CFR , subpart S.
- Minimum three years of experience as a journeyman substation electrician installing and maintaining high voltage substation equipment of up to 230,000 volts; or four years of industrial electrical experience and completion of a formal utility electrical apprenticeship training program designed for electrical transmission and distribution workers.

The pay rate listed represents the starting rate of pay/hr that may be offered, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
In compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO) direction, employees issued initial badges on or after September 1st, 2025, are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a federal background check investigation. This investigation encompasses multiple areas of eligibility and includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year.
This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.
