Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
PNNL is seeking a fully qualified Sheet Metal Journeyman to perform sheet metal work across a range of projects. This bargaining unit position is governed by the Battelle/HAMTC Collective Bargaining Agreement and carries a weekly pay of $2,151.76.
Responsibilities- Perform all types of sheet metal work, including layout, shearing, punching, forming, fabrication, removal, replacement, and erection of complex installations.
- Set up and operate sheet metal tools and equipment.
- Direct and mentor other team members as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fully qualified Journeyman Sheet Metal with the optional certification through a formal apprenticeship program.
- Minimum 1 year of Journeyman‑level experience.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
- Ability to safely and effectively use all sheet metal tools, materials, and equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools for trimming, buffing, filing, and grinding sheet metal surfaces and joints.
- Understanding of safety practices to maintain a safe work environment for self and coworkers.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of Journeyman experience and use of electronic work‑request systems on tablets or smartphones.
