Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in Richlands, VA, requiring OB experience and the ability to float to Nursery and Post-Partum.

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA), NRP, and intermediate fetal monitoring or above; STABLE certification required for nursery assignments
• Minimum 1–2 years of OB Labor & Delivery experience required
• Experience with general OB L&D and nursery care required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidate's permanent address must be more than 60 miles from the facility

• Night shift position working 7p–7a (18:45–07:15)
• 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
• Located on the OB 3rd floor of a 175-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level 3 OB facility
• L&D unit includes 3 L&D beds, 9 OB beds, 14 Nursery beds, and 3 intermediate nursery beds
• Low-volume OB unit with generally fewer than 15 deliveries per month
• Patient population is Level 3 OB; patient ratios follow A1 Guidelines
• Primary specialty is Labor & Delivery with responsibility for OB deliveries and nursery care
• Float required to Nursery and Post-Partum when units are closed due to census
• EMR:
  Meditech
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Responsibilities include OB delivery care, labor and delivery nursing, and nursery care
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but the unit requires a minimum of 1–2 years of OB experience
