** About the role – (Workshop Focus)
** The role is responsible for leading and coaching fabricators on the workshop floor to ensure work is completed safely, to specification, and to the required quality and time frames. This involves maintaining a strong on‑floor presence and working directly with the team to support day‑to‑day fabrication activities.

Key responsibilities include:

* Providing hands‑on coaching to fabricators during daily work, including fabrication methods, welding quality, fit‑up, and correct use of tools and equipment.
* Checking work in progress against drawings, job specs, and quality requirements, and addressing issues early to prevent rework.
* Coaching safe work practices and ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with safety procedures and site requirements.
* Supporting apprentices and less experienced fabricators through clear instruction, demonstrations, and ongoing guidance.
* Setting clear expectations around workmanship, productivity, housekeeping, and job ownership, and holding fabricators accountable for their output.
* Working with the team to solve fabrication issues, improve workflow, and identify more efficient ways of completing jobs.
* Recognising good work on the floor and addressing performance or behaviour issues promptly and professionally.

Through consistent floor‑level leadership and coaching, the role ensures the workshop operates safely, efficiently, and delivers high‑quality fabrication outcomes

This is a position of responsibility and accountability and as such we are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate the ability to:
