We are seeking an Apprentice Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Richlands
.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in the heavy vehicle industry. In this role you will develop hands‑on skills in servicing, diagnosing and repairing our fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment, supported by experienced and qualified mechanics.
You will play an important role in maintaining our fleet, helping ensure it remains safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities- Learn to carry out mechanical inspections, diagnostics and fault finding on heavy vehicles and equipment
- Assist with servicing and maintenance of trucks, trailers, dollies and light vehicles in line with workshop procedures
- Work alongside experienced mechanics to identify faults and complete repairs on brakes, suspension, steering and engine components
- Support fabrication and body repair work, including welding and grinding on trailers and chassis
- Build your ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues to minimise downtime
- Assist with ordering and replacing parts in line with quality standards and manufacturer specifications
- A strong interest in mechanical work
- Willingness to learn and complete (or commence) an apprenticeship in Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR
31120) - Successfully completed a minimum of Year 10 or equivalent
- Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Unrestricted Australian work rights
- Prior automotive or mechanical experience (desirable, not essential)
- Support towards completing your trade qualification
