The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Broker Relationship Manager for the BC region. In this pivotal role, you will act as a comprehensive business consultant, driving all aspects of our business relationships. Your mission is to help brokers get the best out of the Aviva partnership and become trusted resource for their business overall.

You will focus on profit management, identifying strategic business opportunities, fostering partnerships, and leading marketing campaigns across all lines of business, including Personal Lines and Commercial Lines. The variety and scope of the role requires a strong business acumen and eagerness to continuously develop your skills.

What you’ll do:
  • Ongoing performance management, including monitoring mix of business, new business support, LR and retention trends, and other key success indicators
  • Identify strategic opportunities with broker partners, including succession planning gaps, merger or acquisition potential, business planning, digital readiness and portfolio transfers
  • Act as the single point of contact for a broker partner, coordinating and orchestrating internal and external resources as vital
  • Provide brokers with creative solutions to their business challenges, strengthening our partnerships
  • Drive sales and marketing activities by aligning to the business plan, help brokers to grow their portfolios with Aviva
  • Profit management through disciplined broker / portfolio management
  • Give brokers insights into their portfolios to help them manage their business (and ours)
  • Use analytics to identify trends, mix of business problems, LR issues, etc.
  • Business planning and execution through the development of plans with brokers that align with Aviva’s territorial and line of business objectives
  • Identifying strategic opportunities via portfolio transfers that add profitable volume to a broker’s book of business and identifying acquisition targets as well as consolidators
  • Distribution assessment activities to fill any gaps
  • Relationship management through building and strengthening relationships with principals, mid-managers, key producers and frontline staff
  • Drive performance improvement tactics where applicable
  • Develop solutions and find answers for their brokers by understanding their individual needs and providing expertise on how they can grow their business with Aviva.
What you’ll bring:
  • University – undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • CIP designation an asset
  • 8-10 years of related experience in the insurance industry
  • Portfolio management and marketing experience
  • Proven commercial insurance experience/strong commercial insurance acumen
  • Pipeline management / opportunity tracking
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities

    Relationship management skills
  • Customer and results focused
  • Strong networking capabilities
  • Very strong business management (business plans, marketing plans, metrics, understands business drivers) capabilities

What you’ll get :
  • The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
