Overview

We're looking for an experienced Business Planning Analyst for our Prevention Divisional Strategy and Operations department. In this role, you'll provide support for a variety of duties related to strategic and operational activities, planning, analysis, performance, reporting, regulation implementation, and quality management. These duties will be provided to Prevention Services through an assignment of work, primarily to support strategic and operational projects and programs.

What you'll do
  • Provide support and assistance in developing the departmental plan, divisional roadmap and contributing to enterprise business plan
  • Help to define measures and prepare and maintain divisional and departmental reports
  • Apply business planning principles and practices, including result‑based management, to track, monitor and report on measures
  • Support management through project management, facilitation of meetings and applying business improvement change management principles to business planning and projects
  • Gather and analyze information and data to understand problems and/or opportunities, and develop creative and pragmatic solutions for various levels of management including senior leadership
  • Write concise, clear, and grammatically correct business documents to inform or persuade a variety of audiences
  • Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.

  • Lead and monitor multiple projects and project teams to completion
  • Prepare, deliver, and defend presentations to a variety of clients
  • Write concise business documents to inform or persuade a variety of audiences
  • Facilitate meetings with clients and co‑workers
Your background and experience
  • A master's degree in a business‑related discipline, such as business administration, accounting, economics, policy, law or finance and a minimum of four years of related work experience in business and/or financial analysis
  • Or, a bachelor's degree in a business‑related discipline, such as business administration, accounting, economics, policy, law or finance, and a minimum of four years of related work experience in business or strategic planning, business process improvement, project management and gap analysis and/or data analysis reporting
  • Project management and a business process analysis background is strongly preferred
  • Experience in public sector is an asset

We'll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.
