The Sr. Sales Finance Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our Sales Finance function, providing key analytics and insights to drive profitable and sustainable growth. This is a 15-month contract based out of our HQ in Richmond, BC.
Responsibilities- Act as the owner and custodian of company discounts and the trade investment framework
- Assist in managing brand/category P&L and tracking movements and gaps in business targets
- Help track customer P&L and measure gaps in plans versus budget through variance analysis and the use of internal and external data
- Calculate and validate broker commissions ensuring accuracy in payment and accruals for brokers
- Provide support in financial simulations such as pricing, savings, and trade investments
- Partner with Accounting and FP&A to manage trade spend; identify opportunities to reduce trade spend and help mitigate trade spend risk
- Support monthly and annual close processes; monthly journal entries to true-up trade spend
- Support trade management by developing tracking of account promotional activity and provide insight to Finance and Revenue Management on key changes to promotion activity
- Execute and ensure accuracy of trade management financial reports
- Assist with ad-hoc and cross-functional projects as required
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in handling financial data and reports
- Excellent analytical skills to understand business drivers and interpret financial results
- Aptitude for finding solutions to financial issues and making data-driven decisions
- Effective time management and results-oriented and ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
- Inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently within tight deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience
- CPG experience preferred
- Advanced Excel proficiency:
Mastery of complex formulas, data analysis tools, and automation techniques - PowerBI and SQL Proficiency
This 15-month contract will pay between $90,000 - $110,000 based on experience. We are a hybrid work environment and this role will be based out our head office in Richmond.
