Job Description

As Director of Sales & Marketing, your key responsibilities are to architect and steer hotel sales and marketing strategies into a new era of growth and innovation. This senior role demands a blend of visionary leadership, strategic marketing genius, and sales expertise, poised to elevate our brand and drive revenue. The ideal candidate will possess a track record of crafting winning strategies, inspiring teams, and forging solid relationships with customers and partners alike.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the hotel’s overall commercial strategy, aligning sales, marketing, events, rooms, and food & beverage initiatives to drive revenue and long-term success.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term sales, marketing, and business strategies to achieve revenue goals and grow market share.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership, regional teams, and Fairmont partners to support pricing, forecasting, digital marketing, and commercial performance strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and business performance to identify opportunities and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting, forecasting, and the execution of key sales programs and initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, tourism partners, airport and community organizations, and third-party travel partners.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team through coaching, mentorship, and ongoing career development.
  • Foster a collaborative, people-focused culture that encourages creativity, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote strong communication and teamwork across departments while modeling Fairmont’s values and service culture through hands‑on leadership.
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Proven leadership experience in hotel sales and marketing, with a strong ability to inspire teams and drive results.
  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, or a related industry, with a solid understanding of commercial strategy and revenue management.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and building strong team culture.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging clients, partners, media, and team members alike.
  • Comfortable working with data, forecasting, and budgets, with the ability to turn insights into action.
  • Tech‑savvy and confident using hotel and business systems, including Opera and Microsoft Office platforms.
  • A natural connector who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and brings energy, creativity, and curiosity to the role.
  • Previous experience in a Director of Sales & Marketing role is an asset.
