KOI Japanese Restaurant, located inside River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, is looking for a Sushi Bar Helper / Sushi Apprentice to join our kitchen team.
No previous sushi experience is required. We are happy to train the right person from the beginning.
For this position, experience is less important than attitude
. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, willing to work, reliable, and takes their responsibilities seriously.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist sushi chefs with daily preparation
- Prepare ingredients and basic sushi bar items
- Help with receiving, storage, cleaning, and organization
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Assist the sushi team during service
- Learn basic sushi preparation and techniques step by step
- Complete other kitchen and sushi bar duties as needed

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment

- Interest in learning Japanese cuisine and sushi is a strong asset
Full-time and part-time positions are both available.
