• Build and maintain a referral network to generate new mortgage business and increase BMO’s market share.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities and refer prospects to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
• Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
• Proactively contact referral and origination sources through national and local partnership initiatives.
• Assist with targeted marketing programs, promotions, and other initiatives.
• Seek cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities with branch teams to meet individual sales and profitability goals.
• Represent BMO at trade shows, conferences, and community events to enhance the bank’s presence.
• Serve as a customer advocate during mortgage application and processing activities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, guiding clients through mortgage applications, and referring non‑mortgage needs to appropriate partners.
• Resolve or escalates issues to meet customer expectations and ensure timely funding.
• Keep current on consumer needs, industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements for mortgage products.
• Develop solutions and provide recommendations to align with business strategy and stakeholder needs.
• Support the execution of strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.
• Document updates in BMO’s internal systems to track customer opportunities and transactions.
• Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations; prepare regular and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards.
• Perform routine operational tasks within defined service level agreements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Manage compliance with guidelines and regulations to maintain operational integrity.
• Take measured risks while protecting the bank through Risk Management Framework and Risk Culture compliance.

• Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Post‑secondary degree in a related field or proving equivalent knowledge.
• In‑depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
• Expert knowledge of self‑management, teamwork, personal lending, relationship sales and management.
• Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, trust services, business and commercial lending, and cash management.
• Strong knowledge of the broader real estate industry and mortgage market.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Compensation based on commission; salary varies by location, skills, experience, and education.
• Commission structure represents the expected target for the first year.
