The YVR Climate and Environment Department seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist to spearhead waste management and conservation efforts. Reporting to the Manager, you will work collaboratively to execute the Environmental Sustainability Plan and monitor key goals. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for liaising with various teams, achieving sustainable outcomes, and educating the community on environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive initiatives for waste diversion and sustainability

• Train staff on environmental practices

• Evaluate and report on program effectiveness

• Manage consultant relationships for project delivery

• Communicate with community stakeholders

Requirements:

• 7-10 years of senior-level environmental experience

• Master’s degree in related field preferred

• Relevant professional designation (e.g., MCIP)

• Proven project management experience

• Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations
