Industrial Mechanic Position BC

Become a vital part of the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant as a Maintenance Mechanic. This full-time, permanent, and unionized role in Richmond, BC focuses on maintaining essential industrial mechanical systems.

In this position, you'll perform critical maintenance and repair duties that ensure the operational efficiency of large-scale equipment. Your skilled troubleshooting abilities will help diagnose and resolve issues effectively, contributing to a collaborative team environment dedicated to safety and procedural compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and align large-scale mechanical systems and equipment

• Maintain and repair piping systems, valves, and meters

• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery

• Document service and maintenance activities thoroughly

• Assist in minor welding tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education;
Heavy Duty Mechanic qualified

• Experience with industrial mechanical systems is essential

• Ability to support junior staff and maintain work spaces

• Compliance with WCB regulations and safety standards

• Red Seal certification is an asset
