Position

Apprentice AME for Structures “S”

Location:

Richmond, BC

Candidate would be hired on the bases and will become a licensed “S” ACA. Will be required to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follows approved repair/modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been TC approved, OEM’s technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points. Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment specified in technical manuals.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations.
  • Bolts, screws, or rivets accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Cuts, trims, files parts, and verifies fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Drills holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies.
  • Learn to meticulously inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment, ensuring optimal fit, peak performance, and strict compliance with industry standards using advanced measuring instruments and precision test equipment.
  • Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
  • Transport Canada approved training program Certificate e.g. BCIT, SAIT

Salary

$56,594 – $71,732 based on experience.

Work Schedule Choice
  • 8‑hour days, Monday to Friday (06:00‑14:15)
  • 10‑hour days, Monday to Thursday (06:00‑16:30)
Time Off
  • 4 weeks vacation starting with the option to purchase an additional week through payroll deduction
  • 10 days sick leave
  • 13 statutory holidays observed
Pension
