Requisition - Licensed Tradesperson - Industrial Certified Electrician Job Description
The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, gear boxes, rollers, drive units, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure that equipment operates with minimal downtime while complying with health and safety standards.
Schedule:
Saturday to Wednesday, 40 hours per week. Saturday and Sunday: 3:30 AM–12:00 PM (30‑minute unpaid break). Monday to Wednesday: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30‑minute unpaid break).
Location:
3700 Jericho Road, Richmond BC.
- Conduct regular preventative or predictive maintenance on MHE to keep equipment in a good state of repair and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical failures in MHE to minimize downtime and reduce downstream service impact.
- Inspect and monitor MHE and related facilities.
- Prepare and maintain safety and operational reports.
- Coordinate and document work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Completion of specialized courses normally taught in community or recognized specialty colleges amounting to approximately three academic years.
- Red Seal certification required.
- For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) required.
- For millwright roles, a Licensed Industrial Millwright Certificate (433A) required.
At least five years of experience as an electrician or millwright installing, maintaining, diagnosing, or repairing material handling equipment.
