Join Ignition Marine as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, specializing in marine systems at our brand new Shelter Island Marina facility. This hands-on role emphasizes your mechanical expertise to guarantee marine engine performance and safety.

You will be responsible for the rigorous inspection and repair of various marine propulsion systems and generators. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a robust technical foundation, ensuring adherence to industry standards. Work on diverse vessels while contributing to Ignition Marine's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and service marine diesel engines and auxiliary systems

• Conduct maintenance and major overhauls as required

• Test engine performance and ensure compliance with regulations

• Document repairs and maintain detailed service records

• Assist with emergency repairs and after-hours service

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marine diesel mechanics

• Strong skills in diagnostic tools and technical documentation

• Preferred certifications:
Red Seal or Marine Engine Technician

• Familiarity with Transport Canada regulations

• Effective communication and teamwork skills under pressure
