Position: Iona Island Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic
Take on a Maintenance Mechanic position at GVRD's Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant. Focus on maintaining and servicing vital machinery while fostering safety and teamwork in a mechanical environment.

We are looking for a self-starting, analytical thinker passionate about mechanical operations. This role involves both independent work and collaboration to troubleshoot and maintain a variety of equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation of our wastewater services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and align machinery based on specifications

• Repair pumps, engines, and internal combustion systems

• Train junior mechanics on maintenance practices

• Keep detailed maintenance records and share knowledge

• Collaborate with welders for minor repairs

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent and applicable Trade Certification

• At least 4 years of mechanical repair experience

• Expertise in tool usage and machinery maintenance

• Proficient in Microsoft applications and CMMS

• Must hold a valid B.C. driver's license
