VANCOUVER, BC V6E 4A2 Corix operates the City Centre District Energy Utility in Richmond, BC – a growing low-carbon system that will recover heat from wastewater to provide low-carbon heating and cooling across Richmond's City Centre neighbourhoods. It’s hands‑on infrastructure work with a real environmental payoff, and part of a growing portfolio of district energy systems Corix operates across North America.
You'll Do
- Monitor, adjust, and control plant systems(on‑site and via SCADA/HMI) to keep operations safe, efficient, and compliant with internal standards and external regulations
- Operate, inspect, andmaintainequipment across district energy facilities, underground distribution piping, and energy transfer stations, performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance and repairs
- Troubleshoot performance issues, take corrective action, and recommend improvements tooptimizesystem reliability and availability
- Lead on‑site health & safety: hazard assessments, site inspections, and safety documentation (JHAs, FLHAs, SOPs, ERPs), for employees, contractors, and visitors alike
- Keep detailed,accurate maintenance records in the CMMS
- Respond to after‑hours emergencies as part of the on‑call rotation, acting as first responder when needed
- Plant and field environments, including exposure to water, chemicals, hazardous materials, and noise
- Heavy lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.
- Extended standing and climbing
- Occasional work at heights, in confined spaces, or in inclement weather
- Regular travel between sites within the City Centre network
- On‑call and scheduled overtime participation
- 4th Class Power Engineer certification
- Minimum 2 years' experiencemaintainingand troubleshooting mechanical equipment (boilers,air source heat pumps,cooling towers, chillers, pumps, valves, piping, and fittings)
- Valid driver’s license, with ability to provide a driver’s abstract
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong communicator, self‑motivated, and comfortable working independently, with good critical thinking and problem‑solving instincts
- Someone who takes pride in a clean, well‑organized workspace and holds equipment and facilities to a high standard
- HVAC system experience
- SCADA/HMI, controls, or instrumentation experience
- First Aid Level I
Theanticipatedpay range for this position is $38–40perhour, based on relevant experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for overtime.
