In this on-site position, you will work directly with complex experimental testbeds, including laser and fiber optics systems. A minimum of two years' experience in a lab or shop is essential, along with strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical work. This role requires adaptability for occasional evening or weekend shifts to ensure project progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble and troubleshoot optical and mechanical systems
• Fabricate optical fibers for testing
• Perform precision mechanical assembly tasks
• Suggest improvements for assembly procedures
• Conduct calibration and analyze data
Requirements:
• Post-secondary technical program completion
• 2+ years in a lab or shop environment
• Experience with lasers and fiber optics
• Strong attention to detail in assembly tasks
• Ability to lift up to 20kg
